different
fermentation
techniques

At the heart of Two Brewers is a celebration of the brewing heritage in whisky making. We apply brewing techniques in the creation of our whiskies; making small releases, with a variety of malted roasted grains, using different fermentation techniques and a mix of barrels. No two releases are the same; each expression emerges layered and complex and likely never to be repeated.

Two engineers go on a
canoe trip in the Yukon...

That's what inspired Bob Baxter and Al Hansen to begin brewing beer in Whitehorse in 1997. Only 12 years later, inspiration struck again when they bought a still and started making whisky, and Two Brewers was born. Celebrating the shared history of beer and whisky, Two Brewers takes the flavours (and equipment) of a brewery to create one-of-a-kind whisky; an act of ingenuity that marries their engineering background with a passion for beer and spirits.

Our philosophy

At Two Brewers, our philosophy is simple; honour the traditions of Single Malt Whisky while pushing the craft forward in a way other distilleries can’t or won’t. We use our knowledge as brewers to create exciting flavours at all stages of a whisky’s creation, celebrating the unique characteristics that we are able to develop within. The results speak for themselves.

We're certainly making something that's different from what a lot of people consider to be Canadian whisky.

Co Founder

We may have started as just two brewers, but Two Brewers has grown into so much more, servicing the North with quality spirits, keeping jobs and money in the territory, and supporting our local community.
